Working Steampunk Laptop
As steampunk-ish as this sculpture/project looks, it actually works. There's a working display, working keyboard, and working morse code input (wtf?). The creator was inspired by both the Apple Mac (he wanted to make something completely different) and Terry Gilliam. If you look at the back, there are working USB, serial, and a VGA port for the monitor.

Vampire Bats Help Battle Strokes
The study, which wraps up in a few months, is utilizing a compound derived from the saliva of vampire bats and testing its effectiveness in reducing the risk of brain damage after the onset of an acute stroke. If approved, the drug will triple the time period for initiating emergency stroke treatment and offer other important advantages over other medications currently in use, including the only Food and Drug Administration-approved stroke drug.

Smurfing Sing Song
This actually came out in 1980 before the cartoon in the U.S. Of course the Smurfs were popular long before that due to the comic strip drawn by Pierre "Peyo" Culliford in Belgium in 1958. And whether you love the Smurfs or hate them, these songs are undeniably catchy.

Tony Stark will be played by Robert Downey, Jr.
Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.
"Aint It Cool News" is reporting that the lead role of Tony Stark in the upcoming Iron Man movie will be played by none other than Robert Downy, Jr. For those uninformed of the Iron Man mythos, Tony Stark is a rich and well-respected man who develops a substance abuse problem. Hmm...
And a word of advice for this film so it doesn't go down the path of all the other comic book films. DO NOT MAKE THE WHOLE MOVIE A FREAKIN' LOVE STORY!technorati tags:current events, entertainment
