the new feature could theoretically allow users to make free long distance phone calls to any North American number.Since every business listing on Google Maps has the "click-to-call" feature enabled, the only thing you need to do is get listed. Now instead of dialing a long distance phone number on your phone, you "dial" it through your own business listing on Google Maps.

Literary 'Dummies' getting TV treatment
"Whatever topic you can think of, there's a 'Dummies' book for it," said Arthur Smith, who runs his TV production company with Kent Weed. "There's such a plethora of information, and these are books -- not pamphlets." While no major specifics were given regarding the project, Weed said he and Smith would try to make the TV adaptation of the popular manuals both educational and entertaining. Producers are considering a game show format, among other possible formats, Daily Variety said.

A “non-radiative” electromagnetic field is a state of electric and magnetic fields which are localized someplace on the device and in the source, said John Joannopoulos, a researcher from MIT. “Localized means that electromagnetic fields will die off as you go away from the device or the source.”The energy could then be picked up by especially designed gadgets. What's not picked up by the receiver is then reabsorbed by the emitter.It’s not dangerous at all, Joannopoulos told LiveScience.The technology will initially have a short range at first, the researchers expect. Yesterday, Microsoft agreed to share revenue from Zune sales with record labels and artists. Forcing the issue was Universal Music Group, which at deadline is the only label named in the program. UMG refused to license its music to the Zune unless it could receive a percentage of each device sold, in addition to standard music licensing fees for downloads and subscriptions."These devices are just repositories for stolen music, and they all know it," UMG chairman/CEO Doug Morris says. The four-foot-tall, 100-pound (45-kg) bipedal hominid Paranthropus robustus lived in what is now South Africa alongside direct ancestors of modern humans, as well as hyenas, saber-toothed cats, elephants, baboons, antelopes and others.A prevailing notion among scientists has been that Paranthropus was driven into extinction as Africa's climate became drier because it had a very limited diet, while our direct ancestors thrived on a diverse menu.
It turns out that Paranthropus ate leaves, fruit, nuts, seeds, roots, tubers and perhaps even meat from grazing animals, maybe from scavenging, the researchers said.

The grainy, black-and-white photos were taken from an altitude of 65 miles by a 35-millimeter motion picture camera riding on a V-2 missile launched from the White Sands Missile Range. Snapping a new frame every second and a half, the rocket-borne camera climbed straight up, then fell back to Earth minutes later, slamming into the ground at 500 feet per second. The camera itself was smashed, but the film, protected in a steel cassette, was unharmed.
