Ancient Peruvian Artwork Found in London

a London-based art dealer, alerted officers to the existence of the piece after he was asked to facilitate its sale and realized it had likely been stolen. Rijn said the artifact was looted from an archaeological dig at a royal tomb in 1988 and later stolen from the office of an art dealer in Peru in 1996.A London lawyer had been holding the piece for several months for a client and was unaware it was stolen, police said. Officers added that the law firm did not know how the client had acquired the work.

Presley died of heart disease and prescription drug abuse at his Graceland mansion on Aug. 16, 1977. The singer's fans traditionally file past his grave site at Graceland on the eve of the anniversary. A spokesman says as many as 10,000 fans could visit the mansion for this year's vigil.

Does the sudden appearance of a Firefox crop circle imply which browser extraterrestrials prefer? We don't know, but it was still fun to make!Constructed by local Firefox fans and the same team that created the Firefox mural from cornstarch and kool-aid and launched the Firefox weather balloon, the Firefox Crop Circle project shows that we have so much passion for Firefox that we want it to be visible from space!

Joe had an amazing way of taking advantage of Firefox’s class and sex appeal: “I began a ‘Firefox for Prom Queen’ campaign at my school. Though well-received by voters, the prom queen election officials informed us that web browsers, no matter how awesome they are, are not eligible for prom queen. I’ll just have to try again next year.”

THE SHELL SHOW WITH MAE QUESTEL

THE SHELL SHOW WITH MAE QUESTEL

booppix.jpg

This is a lot of fun...

An mp3 of The Shell Show (January 16th, 1937) starring Joe Cook, with special guest Mae Questel (as the voice of Betty Boop). Betty (Questel) shows up about half way through and she joins Cook in a musical fairy tale skit. Betty sings the Gordon and Revel "Shirley Temple" hit, Oh My Goodness and it could easily be the track of a lost Fleischer cartoon. Hmmm... Perhaps someone will be inspired to make it.

(Thanks, Mark Mayerson)
