Changing Faucet Actually Available for $19

faucetlight.jpg

For just $19.99, you get a LED faucet light that streams blue water normally, but turns red as soon as it hits 89 degrees. Gimmicky, sure, but at that price how could you say no?

Automatic Manga reader

book.jpg

Here is an alternative to the E-Book readers, instead of glaring at the LCD you read the actual book but instead of manually flipping the pages it is automatically done. The gizmo I am referring to is the Book Time 5000 from Nishizawa Japan. It is the size of a 21 inch television which allows you to place almost any book, once placed just relax and the pages are flipped with the press of a button.

Rice Omelette mouse cover

this excellent mouse cover shaped like a Japanese Omuraice (a rice omelette). This is a typical Japanese dish in which an omelette covers (more or less) a rice dish, with a little bit of ketchup on top, or curry, depending on your taste. And let’s not forget to add plenty of cheese. This is the perfect dish for kids and salarymen. Personally, I like this dish but always have a hard time being productive after wolfing it down. Also, this mouse cover is compatible with PCs and Macs, and even the WOW OS Home, Business and Ultimate.

Lunar Eclipse March 2007

some megazoom fun with the lunar eclipse...

March 3rd/4th witnessed a total lunar eclipse, the moon being engulfed
in the earth
’s shadow. The eclipse continued for six hours with the best views in
Europe, Middle East, and Africa. It was not so visible in other
continents. This photo, taken in South Shields, United Kingdom, vividly
shows the sequence of the moon’s appearance...

Some ideas are:

- paint/draw/collage- sculpt (like the master)

- write a poem, a short story

- take a photo- visit a museum or art gallery

- sew

- cook something exciting you've never made before

- see an art film, foreign film, or movie about an artist

A-Team Movie?

"The A-Team": Will Hollywood soon pity the fool? Top Cow's Silvestri — who holds claim to the TV show's movie rights — tells us that the underground mercenaries are still in the running for a potential big-screen franchise. "It's one of those situations where we've had more than a couple scripts written that just haven't nailed it yet," he said, promising "when the script comes in that everyone is happy with, then it'll be made."

100 Year Old Man Kicks Teenage Gang's Ass with 'Kung Fu'

After a night at the pub, Buster Martin began to head home. On his way home Buster Martin showed that, even at 100, he still knew how to handle himself when he was confronted by the teenagers after a night at the pub.Whether it was the alcohol or nerves of steel, the World War II veteran scared his three attackers so much they fled empty-handed.

Why do pilots say "roger" on the radio?

Pilots and other military types say “roger” to acknowledge receipt of a message or instructions. “Roger” at one time was the phonetic designation for the letter R, which in turn stood for “received.” Why not just say "received"? From a safety perspective, it makes sense to use standardized language, particularly when dealing with international operations. An American pilot may not understand German, but they both understand aviation terminology. The International Civil Aviation Organization oversees this standardization and disseminates it accordingly.

Why are there 28 days in February?

It's the Romans' fault. Our modern calendar is loosely based on their old, confusing one. Though records on the Roman calendar are sparse and sketchy, legend has it that Romulus, the first king of Rome, devised a 10-month lunar calendar that began at the spring equinox in March and ended with December. It is unclear whether there were any official months between December and March, but it's likely they were left off because the wintertime wasn't important for the harvest. The second king of Rome, Numa Pompilius, decided to make the calendar more accurate by syncing it up with the actual lunar year—which is about 354 days long. Numa tacked on two months—January and February—after December to account for the new days.

Super Mario Snow Art

Nic, Daniel, Garrett Ian, Daniel , Justin and Craig are engineering and computer science students at New Jersey Institute of Technology, so when they saw that mother nature was dropping some white stuff on the ground outside, they decided to construct a wonderfully nerdy shrine to their favorite Italian plumber. Apparently, they used a string grid to get it, right. We're not quite sure what that means, but the result sure is cool. Check out the photos below.

Dell gives desktop Linux its "full attention"

Specifically, users wanted the top-three free Linuxes -- Ubuntu, Fedora, and openSUSE -- offered as selections for the Dell desktop. The Linux option was almost twice as popular as the next option. That next option was, by the way, to have OpenOffice pre-installed instead of Microsoft Works or a trial version of Microsoft Office. After that, the fourth most popular option was for Dell to offer a laptop with Linux pre-installed. The fifth on the list was, if Dell couldn't offer Linux pre-installed, was to start offering systems without any operating system.

in-car phonograph player

in 1956, Chrysler Corporation stepped up to offer car buyers a new listening option – an in-car phonograph. The players, made by Columbia, were mounted on the bottom edge of the dash, directly above the transmission hump, and were wired directly into the car radio. Pressing a button on the front cover of the player opened it, allowing the turntable to be slid outward. Flipping a switch on the left side of the player bypassed the radio tuner, and the radio’s amplifier then could boost the signal from the player while volume, tone and balance could be controlled by the regular radio knobs.

It seemed like a good idea at the time
