Cruise Around Town on Your Free Spirit Bike from Sears
Banana seats and stretch handlebars were part and parcel for the super cool 1970’s bicycle. Customization was super easy. A novelty license plate from Frosted Flakes, steamers on the handlebars and some sweet beads for the spokes so you could be heard coming from the 3 blocks away. Now your good to go.

Vt. town named 'Simpsons' official home
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. -- Maybe it was the pink doughnut. Maybe it was the clever homemade video, or small-town charm. Maybe Homer just figured it was time to go green.Whatever the reason, this much is true: Tiny Springfield, Vt., beat out 13 other like-named cities Tuesday for the right to host the premiere of "The Simpsons Movie," winning an online poll it wasn't even invited to participate in.

Beats begging, says Marc the Litter Guy
So the 30-year-old got some garbage bags and put a sign on his back saying he was cleaning the city for donations."I needed to make my own job, so I thought I'd go around and clean the streets. I wear a sign -- it tells what I'm doing and asks for donations -- but I don't ask for money verbally, I leave it up to people," said Marc, who has been picking up about 80 bags of garbage a day for the past 11 months.

Picasa Web Becomes Location Aware
Google's photo sharing site lets you see photo albums on a map. For each photo that has latitude and longitude, Picasa Web shows a small map in the sidebar. You can enter a single location for an entire album or place each photo from an album to a map using drag and drop. The desktop client can also geolocate photos using Google Earth.
I spent 20 min. messing with this. It's pretty cool.

Dr. Feel-"Bad": Motley Crue Sues Manager for $20 Million
Claiming he manipulated drummer Tommy Lee and extorted the band, heavy metal icons Motley Crue this week in Los Angeles sued its manager Carl Stubner and his associates for more than $20 million for lost earnings and other damages. Ticketnews.com has obtained a copy of the lawsuit, which portrays Stubner as a virtual svengali who placed Lee in failing projects at the expense of Lee’s and the band’s reputation because Stubner profited from them. The band described a litany of lost tour and promotional opportunities it lost from 2005 to the present due to Stubner allegedly not making “Lee available on an exclusive basis” to the band for interviews, concert dates and recording sessions.

The Official Peanuts Website FAQ
Q. Who is the girl "with the naturally curly hair"?
]
A. The girl "with the naturally curly hair" is known as Frieda.
Q. What about the Little Red-Haired Girl?
A. There are two different lines of thought about "the Little Red-Haired Girl."
1) If you purely follow the strip (which is the preferred interpretation of the story lines by most PEANUTS purists), the Little Red-Haired Girl is never given a name. Actually, she's never even seen in the strip.
2) The Little Red-Haired Girl did actually appear in one of the PEANUTS TV specials ("It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown," 1977), in which she was called "Heather." But in this instance, the creative decisions regarding her appearance were decided by the show's animators - not Mr. Schulz.

Why do people yell "Free Bird!" at rock concerts?
It happens at nearly every rock show. During a lull, while the band's in between tunes, someone in the audience requests Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird." It's meant as a joke, but it's never really funny. So how did the unfortunate tradition begin?

Knock to open
a James Bond-worthy concept: knock on the door in a certain fashion, and the door'll open automatically. The idea was perfect: no need to drill holes, sneaky enough so the landlord wouldn't accidentally trigger it, easy enough to remember. The implementation was a bit more difficult: We needed something mechanical to open the lock from the inside and something to detect the knocks themselves. The first of the two wasn't too hard: the lock has a 'knob' on the inside, so you can lock and unlock the room from the inside without having the key. The second probably could be solved with a microphone, a small amplifier and a microcontroller to detect the knocks and see if they're in the right order.

Toilet Water Cleaner Than Fountain
Middle School student Kyleray Katherman had a hunch something was amiss with the school's drinking fountain water. And right he was.For an English assignment, he tested the bacteria content at four water fountains and one toilet to challenge a ban on students from bringing bottled water to class. It seems some were using it to sneak in alcohol.Guess which was cleaner? It wasn't the water fountains.
