Swapatorium
Swapatorium
This is how they used to roll in the 1970s
I remember those days. I'm amazed I survived. Plus, everything was brown colored and made of leather.

Reporter on fashion jaunt finds plenty of baggy britches
The proposed ordinance states that "the indecent exposure of his or her undergarments" would be unlawful in a public place. Atlanta Councilman C.T. Martin, a college recruitment consultant, calls jumbo-sized drawers that show off boxers underneath an epidemic that's becoming a major concern. But Seagraves said any legislation that creates a dress code would not survive a court challenge.Reporter on fashion jaunt finds plenty of baggy britches | ajc.com

Newsvine - Shark Caught on Spain Beach Dies
MADRID — A shark that was captured in shallow waters where it had become a daily lure for tourists on a beach died Wednesday at the Barcelona Aquarium.Biologists had said they did not expect the 7-foot female sandbar shark to survive because it stopped swimming after being brought to the aquarium on Monday and needed help from divers to keep moving and thus breathing.

Cardboard cops slow speedsters
Cardboard cops slow speedsters - Nashville, Tennessee - Saturday, 08/18/07 - Tennessean.com
Earlier this month, the city commissioned a life-size, corrugated plastic cutout of Miller, posing with his radar gun, a menacing scowl on his face. They post the cutout in high-traffic areas, hoping that it will deter speeders."It's meant to get people to think about it and slow down. It's actually worked," said Miller, the head of Smyrna's traffic enforcement division.

Does the average person consume four spiders per year in his sleep?
For a spider to get into your mouth while you're sleeping, (a) you must have your mouth OPEN, which is certainly not universal, so there's a big chunk of people who can never swallow anything; (b) there has to be a wandering spider in your immediate vicinity, also something which--for most people in the civilized world, at least--is a fairly rare occurrence; (c) the spider has to either jump or fall into your mouth from a long distance, because they won't go near your mouth otherwise (they're not suicidal), and the odds are pretty astronomical of a spider randomly dropping into your mouth from the ceiling.Put it all together, and it would be a miracle for a spider to end up in anyone's mouth while they're sleeping, except for one rare circumstance--when a spider egg sac hatches indoors. The Straight Dope Mailbag: The Straight Dope Mailbag: Does the average person consume four spiders per year in his sleep?

Pepsi Commercials of the 1980s by The Retroist
Pepsi Commercials of the 1980s by The Retroist
In the 1980s the Cola War was raging. Coke was on the defense and Pepsi pulled in a bevy of A-Listers to remind you to drink Pepsi. After all Pepsi was the Choice of a New Generation and who better to represent the new generation then Madonna, Michael J. Fox and Don Johnson?
