The WIRED CD: Rip. Sample. Mash. Share. - Creative Commons
These musicians are saying that true creativity needs to be open, fluid, and alive. When it comes to copyright, they are pro-choice. Here are 16 songs that encourage people to play with their tunes, not just play them.

Edit your photos! On Flickr! « Flickr Blog
Edit your photos! On Flickr! « Flickr Blog
Picnik has been providing online photo editing for a while now. As soon as we saw it, we knew that there was huge potential for us to join together. Rather than Flickr diverting from our speciality to enter a realm we had no (particular) expertise in, the thought of a partnership seemed much more sensible. The Picnik/Flickr collaboration works similarly to other 3rd party services who’ve built additional tools on top of the Flickr API: You’ll need to pass through the step of giving the Picnik service permission to edit and save your photos… It’s a little bit like you’re “installing” Picnik on your Flickr account, but with nothing to download.

Compiz SnowGlobe
Compiz Fusion Community News for Decemeber 5, 2007: Keep those plugins coming! « SmSpillaz - Random Compiz Fusion Stuff
So last year we had snow, and we were begging to be able to have things inside the cube. Well that wish was granted this year, and so now we have a Cube SnowGlobe(TM). Um, no, you can’t shake it and make the snowflakes twirl up and down and around and such (Although many users have asked for this feature and b0le says it’s certainly possible). But, we now have a nice snowy landscape and snow … sort of to have as an ambiance in our little cubes :D.

You WILL experience the Day of the Ninja -- December 5
You WILL experience the Day of the Ninja -- December 5
It's time for the Annual Day of the Ninja. Forget 'Talk Like a Pirate' Day. This will truly be our chance to show the world what ninja are made of.
As last year (and every year from now on), December 5th is the Day of the Ninja. Plague your co-workers with ninja-ness and wear a ninja mask to work! Got the day off? Run wild in the streets, or dress like a ninja at the mall! Just show the world that YOU ARE NINJA!

one cold hand?
one cold hand?
“onecoldhand.com is a project that connects the Pittsburgh community through one unfortunate event – the loss of a glove. This site creates a method for dealing with the conundrum of finding these lost articles. Do you leave it and hope the owner comes back to find it? Do you pick it up? Throw it away? With onecoldhand.com, the abandoned object now becomes a symbol of benevolence and hope."

Monday, November 26, 2007 is the day thousands of Standardistas (people who support web standards) will wear a Blue Beanie to show their support for accessible, semantic web content. It's easy to show your support for web design done right. Don a Blue Beanie and snap a photo. Then on November 26, switch your profile picture in Facebook and post your photo to the Blue Beanie Day group at Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/bluebeanieday2007/ .
I know I'm late but I thought I'd mention it anyway. :)

Chocolate lorry goes to Timbuktu
Andy Pag, of London, and his co-driver John Grimshaw, of Poole in Dorset, were leaving Mr Grimshaw's home town on a cross channel ferry on Friday. They are travelling in a Ford Iveco Cargo lorry powered by fuel that began life as chocolate, in a bid to raise awareness of green fuels. The 4,500 mile (7250km) trip across the Sahara should take about three weeks. The pair will take a small processing unit with them to convert waste oil products into fuel, which they will then donate to an African charity, along with the lorry.BBC NEWS | UK | England | Dorset | Chocolate lorry goes to Timbuktu
