Fences - Get KDE Plasma-like areas on your windows desktop

Fences is a one-of-a-kind program, allowing you to draw labeled shaded areas on your desktop, which become movable & resizable containers for your desktop icons. These groups can help bring organization and consistency to your computer's desktop, solving the "constant mess" problem that has plagued the desktop since its inception.

Fences also helps you finally appreciate the wallpaper you have hiding behind all that clutter. In addition to its organizing features, Fences offers a novel quick-hide feature (in-patenting-process). Double click your desktop, and all your icons will fade out. Double click again, and they'll return.

Wordie: Make Lists of Words and Phrases

Wordie lets you make lists of words and phrases. Words you love, words you hate, words on a given topic, whatever. Lists are visible to everyone but can be added to by just you, a group of friends, or anyone, as you wish.

Add citations and comments to words and lists, or private notes for yourself. See who else has listed the same words. Check out a random word. Then join the discussion—Wordies are friendly!

Oprah gets pwned by Shaq on Twitter

Your first day on Twitter can be rough. Twittering's still a brand new thing to a lot of people, and a lot of people have Twitterfails. Nobody on Twitter on Friday, though, got as much attention as Oprah, who tweeted for the first time.

Sadly, her inaugural tweet was all in caps. Thankfully, Shaquille O'Neal was there to remind the talk show host that her caps were on. We'd like to congratulate Shaq for having Oprah's back. That's what Twitter friends do for each other.

tweetCC | Publish & license tweets with Creative Commons

http://www.tweetcc.com/siteimages/logo.png
tweetCC started as a conversation on Twitter between Andy Clarke and Brian Suda. Andy wanted to show tweets and avatars for a new book on web design. His publisher needed him to get permissions to republish and that meant asking everyone. This was, not to put too fine a point on it, a pain. Brian agreed. It would be nice if twitter could allow for a CC or other license on your content, then people don't have to ask.
